Curly's Daily Summary of Savusavu Weather Forecasts/Cyclone Watch!
We are now in the official 2018/2019 Cyclone Season, time to prepare your vessels, yourself and moorings!
The following is Curly's brief collective summary of Weather after reviewing all or part of the following;-
.Fiji Met Forecasts, Sopac, GFS gribs ,,MetVuw, ZY Gribs; US Navy –Pearl Harbor and other sources for
the area of Savusavu –Fiji Islands, do not complain to the messenger

1] Marine Weather Forecast;
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 3:57am on Wednesday the 19th of December 2018 Situation: A weak trough of low pressure remains slow moving over Vanua Levu. Associated cloud and showers affects the northern part of the country. Forecast to midnight tonight for Fiji waters: South to northwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Moderate seas. Moderate southeast swells. Further outlook: Southerly winds 10 to 15 knots. Moderate seas. Moderate southeast swells. 2] Fiji Met's Public Savusavu Bulletin; Savusavu Today;- Cloudy periods with some showers and isolated
afternoon or evening thunderstorms. Outlook for Thursday : Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.
3] Savusavu Area Gribs ( Metvuw/zy Gribs ) for next 4 days ..Wed 19 Dec 2018 10 SSE/SW showers, -hvy-showers in afternoon
Overnight 10 SSE showers.
Thu 20 Dec 2018 10 ESE showers,hvy-showers in afternoon
Overnight 10 ENE showers
Fri 21 Dec 2018 10 SE showers Overnight 10 ESE showers
Sat 22 Dec 2018 15 ESE showers overnight 15 ESE fine
4] Grib files out 10 days looking for Lows/bad weather that
will effect Savusavu ;-Now we all know Gribs over 4 days are
alittle suspect but Gribs do often indicate possible bad weather,
there does not appear to be any real troublesome weather BUT it
appears we may have a Wet Christmas day, from Sun 23 Dec
winds 15/20 ,Showers,with some hvy showers, fine day Sun 23 Dec
fingers crossed that weather will improve for Christmas day !!!
5] Tropical Cyclone Watch; There does not appear to be
any Intense Tropical Lows nor Cyclonic activity that will effect
Savsavu,out 10 days
