A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR
SOUTHWEST VITI LEVU WATERS, KADAVU AND VATU-I-RA
PASSAGES AND SOUTHERN LAU WATERS.
Situation: An active trough of low pressure remains slow moving
over the country. Associated cloud and rain band continues to
affect the group and expected to gradually clear from the west
later in the evening today.
Forecast to midnight tonight for Fiji waters: For Southwest Viti
Levu waters, Kadavu and Vatu-i-ra passages and Southern Lau
waters: Southeast winds 20 to 25 knots. Winds becoming easterly
later today. Rough seas. Moderate southerly swells. Poor
visibility in areas of rain and thunderstorms.
Further outlook: Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate to
rough seas. Moderate southerly swells. Poor visibility in areas of
heavy rain and thunderstorms.
For the rest of Fiji Waters: Northeast to southeast winds 15 to
20 knots. Winds becoming easterly later today. Moderate to rough
seas. Moderate southerly swells. Poor visibility in areas of heavy
rain and thunderstorms.
Further outlook: Easterly winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate to rough
seas. Moderate southerly swells.
