Curly's Daily Summary of Savusavu Weather Forecasts/Cyclone Watch!
We are now in the official 2018/2019 Cyclone Season, time to prepare your vessels, yourself and moorings!
The following is Curly's brief collective summary of Weather after reviewing all or part of the following;-
.Fiji Met Forecasts, Sopac, GFS gribs ,,MetVuw, ZY Gribs; US Navy –Pearl Harbor and other sources for
the area of Savusavu –Fiji Islands, do not complain to the messenger
( Curly ) if the forecasts are wrong
1] Marine Weather Forecast;
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 4:13am on Monday the 17th of December 2018 Situation: A weak trough of low pressure with cloud and showers remains slow moving over Fiji. Meanwhile, another trough of low pressure with cloud and showers is expected to affect the group from the north later today and affect the rest of the group by Tuesday. Forecast to midnight tonight for Fiji waters: Northwest to southeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate seas. Moderate to southeast swells. Further outlook: Northwest to southeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate seas. Moderate southeast swells. 2] Fiji Met's Public Savusavu Bulletin; Savusavu Today;- Cloudy periods with isolated afternoon or
evening showers and thunderstorm.
Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional showers with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms 3] Savusavu Area Gribs ( Metvuw/zy Gribs ) for next 4 days Mon 17 Dec 2018 10 WNW fine Overnight 10 WNW fine

4] Grib files out 10 days looking for Lows/bad weather that
will effect Savusavu ;-Now we all know Gribs over 4 days are
alittle suspect but Gribs do often indicate possible bad weather,
there does not appear to be any real troublesome weather BUT it
appears we may have a Wet Christmas day, from Fri 21Dec
winds 15/20 ,Showers,hvy showers, fine days Sat 22 and
xmas eve, fingers crossed that weather will improve for
Christmas day and Boxing day!!!!
5] Tropical Cyclone Watch; There does not appear to be
any Intense Tropical Lows nor Cyclonic activity that will effect
Savsavu,out 10 days however a weak low appears to start forming
26/27 Dec near the Solomon Islands keep a watch on it.
7] Savusavu Tides;
