A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR
NORTHERN LAU WATERS, NORTHERN VANUA LEVU
WATERS, YASAWA WATERS, KADAVU AND VATU-I-RA
PASSAGES.
Situation: A high pressure system to the far southeast of the
group directs a fresh to strong easterly wind flow over the
group. Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure lies slow moving just
to the west of Fiji and associated cloud and rain is expected to
affect the country from later today.
Forecast to midnight tonight for Fiji waters: For Northern Lau
Waters, Northern Vanua Levu Waters, Yasawa Waters, Kadavu
and Vatu-I-Ra passages: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots, wind
turning northeasterly and easing to 15 to 20 knots from later
today. Rough seas. Moderate southwesterly swells.
Further outlook: Northeasterly winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate
to rough seas. Moderate southwesterly swells.
For the rest of Fiji: Easterly winds 15 to 20 knots, turning
northeasterly from later today. Moderate to rough seas.
Moderate southwesterly swells.
Further Outlook: Northeasterly to southeasterly winds 15 to
20 knots. Moderate to rough seas. Moderate southwesterly swells.
